Chaqchao Chocolates is a artisanal chocolate company located on Calle Santa Catalina 204-2nd Floor. The founders, Carrie Anderson and Javier Chavez had previously only sold their products on a small scale in local organic fairs, but decided to open their own chocolate cafe after receiving many requests from customers. In order to follow the continuity of our mission, the interior of the cafe includes many recycled materials in it’s design.
When it comes to our bars, we only use the finest ingredients from the best sources. We first look for bean providers that are locally owned and who produce cacao that is USDA or EU Certified Organic, and Fair Trade. Once we have recieved our safe, high quality beans, we roast them, crack the husks, and refine them with granite stone grinders for 22-36 hours. We then temper the chocolate and mold it into our artisanal bars. Our bars are unique because they use only native Peruvian organic cacao. They contain from 40%-80% cacao, including milk chocolate, white chocolate, and dark chocolate bars. Daily in our cafe we also serve desserts and organic local coffees.
